FAQ

To make guests’ transition to our centers as smooth as possible— and to ease guest and family concerns— we’ve put together an FAQ with answers to some of our most frequently asked questions for your convenience.

Treatment Program Questions

We are a dually-accredited, full-service drug and alcohol detox and treatment facility network. Above all, we commit to treating substance use disorders in the safest, most effective way, from detox to outpatient. We do this by always putting the guest first and by hiring only the most qualified staff, maintaining top-notch facilities, and providing world-class holistic treatment.

Royal Life Centers provides a full continuum of care within our extensive treatment options. Treatment starts with medical detox and residential inpatient. After, guests are guided through our aftercare program consisting of partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP). Following aftercare, guests may continue treatment in our outpatient program (OP), living in our sobering living for alumni called Graduate Housing.

Medical detox is either 4 days or 8 days. Residential inpatient is 14 days, although guests may extend their stay to 28 days, additional fees apply. Aftercare is 12-weeks, broken down into 3 phases. Phase 1 of aftercare is four weeks of PHP. Phase 2 and 3 are two 4-week periods of IOP.

At Royal Life Centers, we operate on a biopsychosocial/spiritual model, meaning that we collectively treat the mind, body, and spirit. Essentially, holistic treatment is the idea that incorporating multiple modalities of treatment— individual therapy, group counseling, art therapy, and more, for example— is the most effective way of treating mental and/or body disorders.

Facility Questions

Royal Life Centers employs licensed addiction therapists. If a guest wishes he or she can make appointments with an outside psychiatrist during our nine-week program.

Royal Life Centers at The Haven, Royal Life Centers at Spokane Heights, and Royal Life Centers at Cascade Heights are private rooms. At our other facilities, you may have a roommate depending on the current census.

Royal Life Centers is a private facility and like other private facilities we have an open-door policy, therefore our guests can choose to leave at any time. However, our staff will do everything in their power to convince each guest to stay and complete their treatment.

While in detox or residential treatment Royal Life Center’s goal is to help the guest maintain focus on themselves, therefore personal cell phones, computers, or any electronics with the capability of accessing the internet will be placed safely in our care until the completion of your treatment.

Questions On What To Bring

You should limit personal belongings to 4-6 changes of light, comfortable, and modest clothing (no profanity or drug/alcohol references). We recommend you bring essential items like your wallet and cell phone.

Guests may bring cash or debit cards to purchase cigarettes at the facility if they would like. Food and drinks are provided by Royal Life Centers.

Appropriate books are acceptable as well as art supplies within reason, i.e colored pencils, and small sketchbooks.

During detox and residential inpatient treatment, the use of personal phones is not allowed to avoid the distractions that inhibit success in recovery. We do recommend guests bring their phones for easy accessibility once they have completed our program.

Detox Questions

A typical day in detox will consist of five groups and three meal breaks per day. You will see a doctor daily, along with medical observation around the clock. We use a method called Q-15, which requires a qualified staff member to do a verified check on each guest every 15 minutes. You can read more about what to expect in detox and view a sample daily schedule here.

During detox and residential treatment, guests may smoke cigarettes chew tobacco, or vape nicotine in designated outside areas at scheduled times.

Detox length is determined based on a medical assessment on arrival and will be either four or eight days.

Depending on your medical assessment, our medical team offers various tapers to assist with your detoxification process. For specific information, please contact our admissions team at (888) 306-3475.

Family-Related Questions

Due to HIPAA laws, we cannot, by law, release any information about our guests unless they have provided us with written consent. Guests are permitted a “safe call” upon arrival at our detox facility to assure family and loved ones that they have arrived safely. As we are a closed facility, guests have limited phone access. However, guests are permitted one call a week that is supervised by their therapist.

Royal Life Centers believes our guests should maintain personal focus while in our detox and residential treatment level of care, however, guests are allowed to leave the property during the 12-week aftercare program for family visits. Additionally, our aftercare facilities, Royal Life Centers at Sound Recovery and Royal Life Centers at Cascade Heights provide a free property for family visitation called the Family House.

*Due to COVID19, we are unable to schedule any family visits during your loved one’s stay for the foreseeable future.

While your loved one is in detox or residential treatment our guest’s individual therapist often involves family members via conference calls. However, upon request, we schedule individual family sessions during the twelve-week aftercare program.
